Dear EUROLAB Members, 

 

EUROLAB has been contacted by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) regarding a project collaboration opportunity. The organization works to develop guidance and capacity building materials for laboratories on sustainable laboratory management, including adequate waste management, recycling, and resource efficiency.

 

In this view, EUROLAB was invited to support this initiative, in helping UNIDO to provide support for laboratories in countries such as Moldova and Georgia to build smart sustainable strategies, through trainings, awareness raise, drafting of guidance documents, sharing of technical input, etc.

 

Key priority areas:

• Laboratory waste management (storage and disposal)
• Energy / water management
• Tailored support and guidance to national context / SOPs
• Engagement of laboratory associations is essential to disseminate knowledge and engage stakeholders

 

In order to proceed with such an opportunity, EUROLAB is looking for experts to participate in this potential partnership. The experts shall have experience in environmental science, chemistry, biology, engineering, or a related field relevant for testing laboratories. Moreover, in-depth knowledge of sustainable laboratory practices, including energy efficiency, waste management, resource optimization, and green chemistry principles and familiarity with relevant international standards (e.g., ISO 17025, ISO 17034) is desired.
